Maker Background
Robert Gasser was born in Sion, Switzerland. And his story with violin making started when he was just 13 years old when he made his first instrument. Once finished his studies, Robert moved to Cremona in 1975 to attend the International School of Violinmaking, where he got his degree in 1979.During his career, he attended several violin-making workshops until he decided it was time to focus on making classical quartet instruments. Now with more than 20 years of experience in the making and with instruments being played worldwide, he continues to make amazing violas, violins, and cellos at his workshop in Cremona. He follows the Cremonese Tradicional making and has makers like Stradivari, Guarneri, Guadagnini, and Bergonzi as his source of inspiration.
