Maker Background

Born in Saint Etienne, France, Gambarin moved to Cremona in 1997 where he studied at the famous International violin making school, under the careful guidance of Masters Ezio Scarpini and Massimo Negroni. After graduating in 2002, he began his apprenticeship training at the workshop of Master Stefano Trabucchi, where where he could start to refine his skills and develop his very own details and approach to his instruments, slowly setting his own construction techniques.

In 2006, with the opening of his own workshop in the heart of Cremona, he had the opportunity to further refine his techniques. He then started crafting his personal character in his instruments, especially violins, notable for the careful choice of woods and the splendid alcohol varnish with high transparency and a good refraction that evidence his methodical work. His work so follows deeply inspired by the classical models of the great Cremonese precursors Amati, Guarneri, and Stradivari. He kept developing and refining his stylistic knowledge and technical skills collaborating with Maestro Simeone Morassi.

After almost a decade working in Cremona, Gambarin moved to the near city of Mantua, where he works until today.
